VIA presented the next step in its Nano processor line which initially attracted such major brand names as Lenovo. The new VIA Nano X2 dual-core processor expands VIA’s reach into the desktop, notebook and further into the embedded market.
VIA also answers the particular challenge of delivering high quality video over separate simultaneous streams to multiple displays. The VIA eH1 graphics card is particularly suited for embedded developers with multi-display projects requiring 1080p HD video with the kind of longevity that embedded designs require.
The VIA Nano X2 and the VIA eH1 multi-display DX 10.1 graphics card were demonstrated at the Lunch at Piero’s press and innovator event during CES.
It’s kind of like a wedding. Months of preparation, lots of great dialogue, pictures, video, people from all over the world, and then, poof! it’s done. At least for this year. Lunch at Piero’s 2011 was a fabulous nexus of innovators and reporters, analysts and video crews. Media joined us from the Las Vegas Convention Center across the street to see apps, mobile devices, gadgets, tablets, software, and some technologies that you will only see in next generation entertainment and PC devices. Find out all about our sponsors here. Thank you to everyone who joined us, both sponsors and editorial teams. Videos and photo album will be posted here. But for now, I’m taking a couple of days off. See you here next week.
Every year, premiere Lunch at Piero’s sponsor, VIA Technologies, Inc. shows us tinier and more intriguing platforms that are powering our digital world, and this year was no different. In addition to the award-winning Samsung NC20 and Lenovo IdeaPad S12 with VIA Nano processors and the latest OLPC, VIA indeed proved that “Small is Beautiful in HD.” VIA showed off the fastest, most efficient VIA Nano 3000 series processor yet and the latest VIA digital media chipset, the VIA N1000 with DirectX 10.1 graphics, with fully programmable HD and Blu-ray capable video engine. And check out this video for the tiny VIA Pico-ITX board in the very attractive AMOS-3001 fanless housing playing stunning HD video of new year’s set at the breathtaking Taipei 101 tower.
