Lunch@Piero’s sponsor, FLIR, featured on ABC News
It’s always a great pleasure to see the followup stories generated by Lunch@Piero’s. Recently
Richard Hart of ABC’s The Next Step posted a story at this link to his interview with FLIR President Andrew Teach and a great demonstration of the company’s thermal visualization technology used extensively for nighttime navigation. From the looks of it, Richard braved a chilly time on the ocean off Northern California’s Half Moon Bay to see how, in this case, crab fishermen are using FLIR’s visualization technology to safely navigate the waters — a technology that used to cost the military millions and is now becoming far more affordable for more mainstream applications. FLIR is extending this superior way of seeing in the dark to cars, boats and other vehicles. At Lunch@Piero’s, FLIR showcased its night vision video cameras both inside the restaurant and right outside in the parking lot where reporters had easy access to both company management and a first-hand look at the technology itself.
