Small is beautiful…and tough

I love the new generation of ultra mobile devices designed for hostile environments (like my kitchen as evidenced by warped water-damaged dog-eared cookbooks). At Lunch@Piero’s TabletKiosk is showing the eo TufTab v7112XT, a VIA-based ultra mobile device that can take the drops, splashes and abuse not only of my culinary environment, but harsh environments like dusty warehouses, or places with extreme temps.

TabletKiosk also plans to show the eo v7110e in that very capacity. The ultra mobile device uses the 1.2 GHz VIA C7-M ULV processor and runs a new signature capture solution by Agilysis. When combined with a mag stripe reader, the eo v110e becomes a very nifty mobile device for scanning credit cards, recording tips and capturing guest signatures tableside. Hope to see these become standard in US restaurants!
